About the Workshop:  About the incursion:

an interactive, fun, lively and hands-on experience that allows students to explore Polynesian dance; we can explore such things as Poi (Mauri) – Poi’s provided for each student, Siva dance (Some) and the fun of Hawaii. We also talk about the legend of the Haka. Depending on age groups we can also discuss Torres Strait Islander cultural safety in Australia.
The incursion introduces students to the rich and diverse cultures of Polynesia through dance.
the incursion is adaptable for different year levels and abilities, making it suitable for the whole school, including mixed-age groups.
Educator will have minimum certification in promotion of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Cultural Safety (CHCDIV002) and a cultural dance professional.
